Elf Name Generator
Every elf at the North Pole workshop has a name like Twinkle Sugarplum — a sprinkle of a first name plus a workshop surname. Press the button and get yours. It's a toy, nothing more: the names are picked at random from two lists written for this page, purely for fun.

Ways to use an elf name
Party name badges. Guests draw an elf name at the door and wear it all evening — it breaks the ice faster than any introduction game.
Anonymous gift tags. Sign Secret Santa gifts with elf names instead of real ones and the guessing game lasts until the very end. Running the draw itself? The Secret Santa generator on this site gives everyone a private reveal link.
Classrooms and teams. Generate a batch of ten, print them as desk labels, and let people pick their favourite. December morale, sorted.
How the names are built
Workshop first names lean sweet and sparkly — Twinkle, Peppermint, Marzipan — while surnames come from the tools and treats of the trade: Hammerhand, Candycane, Woolensocks. With 45 first names and 44 surnames, the generator can make 1980 different elves before it has to repeat itself, and it picks with no memory, so pressing the button twice can — rarely — give you the same elf twice. Take it as destiny.
FAQ
- Is this the "official" way to get an elf name?
- There isn't one. Charts in shops and magazines each use their own lists; this generator uses its own too, written for this page. It's a bit of seasonal fun, not a registry.
- Can I use an elf name for my gift tag?
- Please do — that's half the point. Just make sure your organizer keeps a note of who's who, or the thank-you messages will go to the wrong elf.
- Can I generate names for a whole class or team?
- Yes — the "Generate 10" button gives you a batch. Press it a few times for bigger groups; with nearly two thousand combinations, duplicates are unlikely.
